My three Iowa grandchildren lost a very good friend and faithful companion last week. He passed peacefully in the arms of my youngest granddaughter on the way to the veterinarian hospital. He went to "doggie heaven". He was a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. His name was Chance.
Almost from the beginning of their young lives Chance was their constant and faithful companion. In dog years, he was 102. He lived a long and very meaningful life with his loving family.
He was never much on romping like other dogs, and he preferred to stay close to his masters. He especially enjoyed being petted and nested in their arms. Chance didn't bark much except when the doorbell rang. He got very excited when he saw the leash. The kids remember the many pleasant hours spent walking the neighborhood with Chance.
My youngest grandson said, “Chance preferred to be held and wasn’t much on playing fetch or playing with toys.” My oldest grandson said of Chance that “he was the best dog in the world.”
All three have many good memories with Chance and especially remember his unconditional love. We are reminded that “Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above”… James 1:17 Chance was a true gift.
The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.” Job 1:21
PRAISING THE LORD AND GIVING THANKS FOR THE LOYALTY, LOVE AND GOOD MEMORIES!
